Who we are and what we do
Founded in 2012 by Kimberlee Curtis, KEC Construction Consulting was a Project Manager on The Banks Project in Cincinnati OH, a $250M mixed-use development along the OH Riverfront. The project consisted of privately owned residential and commercial built above a public parking garage. The firm went on to manage the public park portion of the project as Project Manager/Owner’s Rep for the Cincinnati Park Board. Smale Riverfront Park, a $150M green space riverfront development, was a joint effort of the City of Cincinnati, US Army Corps of Engineers, private donors, the state of Ohio and the United States Federal Government. The project began as 50 acres of undeveloped riverfront land that was transformed into an award winning public park space. Kimberlee represented the public parties on The Banks and Smale Riverfront Park from 2007-2016.
Kimberlee relocated to Tampa, FL in 2017 to manage a project at a local hospital complex. She obtained her real estate sales associate license in 2017 and created The KEC Group in 2019. Kimberlee obtained her real estate broker’s license in 2020 and opened The KEC Group Real Estate. Her unique experience working on large public infrastructure, commercial and residential construction projects has positioned The KEC Group to advise and represent her clients through every phase of a project. From property identification and acquisition through planning, scheduling and construction and asset management or disposition.
The KEC Group is a member of several local associations and is heavily engaged within the Tampa community. Kimberlee is passionate about serving in her community to be a part of making it a better place for all residents. She is the Chairperson of the Channel District Community Redevelopment Advisory Committee. She has been on the committee for over 4 years and plays an active role in the planning and budget oversight for public infrastructure improvements, green space construction, landscaping improvements, assisting small businesses and planning for the future of the district. The KEC Group is also a member of the Tampa Downtown Partnership. Kimberlee is a member of the Urban Design Committee and represents the Channel District on the Special Services District Advisory Committee. Kimberlee was on the team that oversaw the design and construction of the Madision Street Park in the Chanel District which recently won the Best Public Space award at the annual Urban Excellence Awards event. The KEC Group is also an active member of CREW Tampa Bay and is on the Programs Committee. Kimberlee is a long standing member of the Project Management Institute and the local Tampa Bay Chapter.

Kimberlee is from southern Kentucky and grew up playing softball and driving go-carts on the family farm. She loves Alabama football (Roll Tide!!) and visits KY often to visit family, tour Bourbon distilleries and attend thoroughbred horse racing.
She is a graduate of Murray State University and has a combined education in Business & Construction and an MBA. She is a certified project scheduler, USACE QA/QC and OSHA 30 certified. Going to the gym is her favorite hobby! Kimberlee has worked in the construction industry for 16 years and a licensed Realtor in Florida since 2017. She relocated to Tampa in 2017 from Cincinnati OH. Kimberlee is passionate about providing excellent service to her clients. She will never run from a challenging transaction and prides herself on her ethical standards and loyalty to her clients.
She specializes in real estate acquisition and disposition representation, public infrastructure, commercial/mixed-use and residential project management, project planning and commercial build outs. She is a city gal with a little bit of small town Kentucky left in her heart. She loves to ride her bike and is passionate about working out! Kimberlee loves to travel and experience new cultures and culinary adventures!
